Volunteer: Leave Behind KitsWe are putting together Leave Behind kits for EMS and First Responders to leave with a patient or any bystanders when responding to an overdose. When someone experiences an overdose and gets administered Narcan/naloxone, they get the choice to either go to the hospital or opt-out. People may opt out for a number of reasons and we recognize that while this may not always be the recommended course of action, it is ultimately up to them to make that choice. If they choose not to go to the hospital, we will provide EMS with kits to leave with them, along with resources and literature to help them.
