Volunteer: Home Repair Volunteer

ADFAC is currently looking for volunteers to complete home repair projects within our service area! All skill levels and backgrounds are welcome to particpate. Come as a group to help make an impact in your community. Whether your with a church group, civic group, a need a team buildig exercise for your company or organization, we would love to have you as a volunteer!


We are gearing up for the upcoming spring and summer season and are looking for volunteers to help complete repair projects for homeowners in Anderson, Roane, Campbell, and Morgan County areas.  


We welcome all volunteers 16 years of age and older to provide home repairs to individuals within Morgan, Campbell, Roane, and Anderson County TN. ADFAC aims to provide an extensive range of home repairs which include:

- Yard work: mowing, mulching, raking leaves, cleaning debris, and pruning

- Cleaning and clearing walkways

- Adding lights to walkways for accessibility and safety

- Adding handrails to existing ramps, steps, and sidewalks

- Cleaning siding and gutters

- Installing gutter guards and downspouts

- Interior and exterior painting 

- Deck, stairs, and ramp installation and repair

- Installing grab bars and other accessibility modifications

- Removing carpet and installing floor coverings

- Minor floor system repair

- Other minor interior and exterior projects as appropriate

Volunteer: Intake Volunteer

ADFAC is looking for an intake volunteer in the Household Assistance Program office. The Household Assistance Program (HAP) provides rental and utility assistance, food pantry, and referrals for clients in the Anderson County area.


Description of Repsonsibility: An intake volunteer will be the first point of contact for most individuals seeking assistance in HAP. Volunteers will be responsible for answering phone calls, assisting with walk-ins, collecting and documenting client information, and scheduling appointments. Intake volunteers will work closely with the Office Administrator in completing these task.


Volunteer Expectations: 

Maintaining excellent and empathetic customer service.

Ability to use techonology such as computers and landline phone systems.

Ability to use digital worksheets such as Google Sheets and Excel. 


Volunteer shifts are typically four hours long and are Monday-Thursday 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. The current shifts that are open are Wednesday 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-4pm and Thursday 8:30am-12pm.
